Though it seems obvious, before going to the trouble of communicating anything, you should have a clear idea of your communication goals and target audience. While some clients take the time on this important step before they call us, some don’t. When that’s the case, our first order of business is helping them define their goals and objectives.

When clients already have communications in place, sometimes the first step is assessing how clear they are. We can determine this by doing a plain language audit that shows:

  • how well their communications incorporate plain language principles, and
  • how effective the communications are with the target audience.
